Army Command Headquarters Released a Press Release Explaining the Matter Regarding “Army Ordered Military Teams Including the Military Intelligence Bureau to Stop Parachuting”.

Regarding the media coverage of “Army Ordered Military Teams Including the Military Intelligence Bureau to Stop Parachuting”, the Army Command Headquarters has stated today (21st) that the Army consulted with the Airborne Training Center on refining the parachute proposal, with no suspension of parachute training for friendly forces, and has no relation to the injury of paratrooper Qin Liang-feng. The Army focuses on centralizing training materials and refining on the consideration of combat capability for special warfare, with an increase in both the number of training teams and trainings this year (2019), and hereby clarify that the relevant coverage is indeed a misinterpretation.

The Army Command Headquarters further pointed out that the combat capability for special warfare is a critical combat capability for defensive combat, and parachute training is an important training for special forces; to adhere to the principle of “Train for Combat”, the Army comprehensively considers factors including troop combat training mission, annual training flow path, and the training energy of parachute training team to refine on the planning of the flow path for parachute training in order to reinforce the training effectiveness for special forces and construct a critical and reliable combat force.
